The San Miguel Beermen kept the promise made during practice Sunday, blasting the Meralco Bolts, 102-86, to book the last berth in the PBA Governors’ Cup Final Four Monday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Seventh ranked Meralco fought with grit and guts all night long and stunned second seed San Miguel Beer, 106-99, to force a do-or-die game in their PBA Governors’ Cup quarterfinals matchup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Saturday night (27 June 2015).

Jared Dillinger and Kelly Nabong played big off the bench, proving to be major factors as the Bolts foiled the Beermen’s first of two cracks at the best-of-five semifinals.

Bolts
Rain or Shine completed a dramatic rise from the brink all the way to a Top Four finish with a 96-89 drubbing of Meralco in a Fathers Day special at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Sunday night (21 June 2015).

Beau Belga and Chris Tiu sparked a decisive surge late in the third period, allowing the Elasto Painters to overcome an early 13-point deficit and eventually stretch their hot streak to six games.

Meralco squeaked past Ginebra, 102-99, to notch its fifth win in the 2015 PBA Governors’ Cup last 14 June 2015 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Andre Emmett had 34 points, while Reynel Hugnatan and Seiya Ando chipped in 12 points each. Jared Dillinger and Gary David also provided points off the bench, tallying 12 and 10 points, respectively.

In a duel between two dogged teams, the one with something extra in its tank prevailed.

That’s what Alaska had when it finally wore down Meralco when it mattered most for an 89-75 win on 9 June 2015 for at least a share of second-running spot in the PBA Governors Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

It’s almost unbelievable.

It was an endgame blitz which allowed Meralco to even its win-loss record at 3-3, taking down Blackwater with an 87-72 victory last 29 May PBA Governor’s Cup at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

The Bolts, who have alternated wins and losses so far in the conference, bucked a “lackadaisical first half” and came alive late, with Andre Emmett, Gary David, and Seiya Ando all hitting their strides in the last two quarters.

Andre Emmett had 37 points as the Meralco Bolts breathed a heavy sigh of relief, escaping the Star Hotshots, 83-81, on 17 May 2015.

The Meralco import added 15 rebounds, six assists and five steals in 42 minutes. Other reinforcement Seiya Ando chipped in 11, while Cliff Hodge and Danny Ildefonso had eight each.

With one of its two imports injured NLEX was looking for any edge it could use against Meralco.

Good thing one was found and exploited, resulting in a 91-84 victory last 13 May that snapped the Road Warriors out of their funk in the PBA Governors Cup at the Cuneta Astrodome.

Meralco fought back from a five-point deficit late in regulation play and lived on in the extra period even on the exit of two key players on fouls as the Bolts repulsed the San Miguel Beermen, 106-95, in the PBA Governors Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last 8 May 2015.

Andre Emmett kept Meralco intact on the ouster of Gary David and Reynel Hugnatan on the onset of overtime, with the Bolts import delivering eight of his 31 points in OT as they bounced back from a 19-point blowout by the Globalport Batang Pier Tuesday.

GlobalPort marked its return under the tutelage of coach Pido Jarencio with a dominant 92-73 win over Meralco in the opener of the PBA Governors’ Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last 5 May 2015.

Seven-foot reinforcement Patrick O’Bryant and Asian import Omar Krayem put in what were expected from them, helping GlobalPort to a winning conference debut for the first time in the franchise’s young history.
